O Laboratório de Síntese Orgânica (LSO) do Departamento de Química da Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto (FFCLRP), da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), conta com 3 docentes responsáveis e vários estudantes de Pós-Graduação (Mestrado e Doutorado) e de Iniciação Científica.

Neste Laboratório são realizadas pesquisas, principalmente de síntese de produtos naturais, mas também de novos métodos de síntese, novas reações orgânicas, novos métodos de análise, desenvolvimento de software e de aparelhos para uso em educação e pesquisa, etc.

O objetivo principal de nossas pesquisas é a formação de recursos humanos e a formação de novos pesquisadores. Buscamos também, na medida que nos permitem nossos recursos, contribuir para o desenvolvimento do conhecimento científico em geral. Nosso principal interesse na pesquisa está voltado para o desenvolvimento de sínteses de produtos que apresentam atividade biológica.

The Laboratory of Organic Synthesis (LSO) is one of the research laboratories of the Department of Chemistry of "Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto" (FFCLRP), of "Universidade de São Paulo" (USP). The research staff of LSO is composed by 3 faculty members and several students, both graduate (PH. D. and M. Sc students) and undergraduate.

Our research is mainly on the synthesis of natural products, particularly biologically active products, but we do also some investigations on novel organic reactions, analytical methods and development of software and equipament for research and educational purposes.

The main objective of our work is to produce new researchers, besides giving our contribution to the development of scientific knowledge.
